Mecklenburg County Jail Inmate Search
The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) website provides an online inmate lookup tool that allows users to search for inmates currently incarcerated at its jail facility. To find an inmate, you must know their full name or facility booking number.

1. Access the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office Website
a. Use a web browser to navigate to the official website of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
2. Locate the Inmate Search Tool
a. On the MCSO homepage, scroll down to the "Inmate Search" section, located under the "Online Services" tab. b. Click on the "Inmate Search" link to open the inmate lookup page.
3. Enter the Inmate Information
a. On the inmate lookup page, you will find two search options:
- "Last Name" (if you know the inmate's full name)
- "Facility Booking Number" (if you have the inmate's facility booking number) b. Select the search method you want to use and enter the corresponding information in the search field.
4. Submit Your Search Query
a. Once you have entered the inmate's information, click on the "Search" button to initiate the search process.
5. Review the Search Results
a. If a match is found, the search results will display basic information about the inmate, including:
- Full name
- Facility booking number
- Date of birth
- Current location within the Mecklenburg County Jail
- Scheduled release date (if applicable) b. You can click on the inmate's name to view additional details, such as charges, bond information, and mugshots (if available).
